Who's behind Baemingo?

Our founders, both restaurant owners and tech experts, have joined forces to create a platform designed to help restaurants grow their business.

The Baemingo Story

Baemingo wasn’t born out of a business plan, an Excel model, or some expensive consultant’s PowerPoint.

Baemingo was born from three people – all with completely different perspectives on life.

Two of them are still here today:

1. Faje Gani – The serial entrepreneur who accidentally bought a restaurant

After 17+ years in the media industry, several board positions and a journey where he helped take a company from 2 million euros to 350 million euros (yes, it’s as crazy as it sounds), Faje thought he had seen it all.

Until he accidentally became a restaurant owner.

Suddenly he saw employees with receipts, cash registers, reports and manual processes that felt like they belonged in 1998. It became clear:

The restaurant industry had problems. Big problems.

And as the serial entrepreneur he is, he thought:

“Surely this can be digitalized. I should be able to save entrepreneurs time, money and headaches.”

That was the starting point.

Along the way, Faje ate a lot of kebab, watched a lot of football and took care of his three kids – but the idea of a modern solution for restaurants only grew stronger.


2. Joar Wilk – The tech genius who turned down big tech

Some people like restaurants.

And then there’s Joar – who loves restaurants, dancing, creating the impossible and traveling between Portugal, Italy and Asia.

Even though Facebook, Google and Microsoft called (several times!), Joar chose to say no.

Why?

Because he wanted to build his own journey. His own vision. His own technology.

And thank goodness he did – today, global partners call him “the genius of payments and innovation.”

When Faje and Joar met, everything clicked:

- One who saw the problems.

- One who wanted to solve them in his own way.

And both love restaurants (one for the food, the other for the dance floor).


The years no one wants to talk about but everyone has to go through

The first years were… let’s call them character-building.

No one wanted to collaborate. No partners understood the idea.

Everyone said: “That won’t work.”

But in 2023, something happened.

Faje and Joar realized that the hospitality industry didn’t need another app. Or another POS system.

What it needed was something bigger:

A real financial partner. A bank that actually understands hospitality.

2025 – the launch of Baemingo 2.0: Europe’s first neo-bank for restaurants

2025 marked the beginning of something completely new.

Baemingo didn’t just become a super-fast, modern POS system.

It became a neo-bank for hospitality – something no one in Europe had succeeded with before.

A platform that combines payments, data, loans, financing and POS – all in one.

Built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.


The journey today – from Stockholm to Europe

Baemingo is now growing through:

  • smart expansion
  • strategic partnerships
  • resellers
  • acquisitions of seriously strong companies

The goal is clear:

To conquer Europe and become the obvious bank and tech platform for everyone running a restaurant, bar, café or hotel.

And ironically, it all started at a restaurant at Odenplan – Yuc Mexican – which inspired the entire journey.

Baemingo is more than a company.

It’s two entrepreneurs who refuse to give up.

It’s an industry that deserves better.

It’s humor, dance, kebab, innovation and true grit.

And the journey has only just begun.
